1. Make share transfers have logs for both players and corporations. This way, all share trades will be trackable.
2. Create a new type of corporation: a public corporation. In a public corporation:
a. There will be the option to not only lock down blueprints, but to also lock down ISK and shares. ISK and shares given to the company will have the option of, by default, being locked down.
b. All major decisions will be made by shareholders on a vote whose length is determined at the creation of the company. This includes unlocking ISK/blueprints/shares, letting new members in, etc. Any shareholder with over a certain % of the shares (also determined on corporation creation as an option, and changable by a vote at any time) can propose a vote to do anything. This includes allowing in a new member: so if a CEO decides to scam and run off with a few billion ISK, a new CEO can be appointed to manage what remains, which should be most of the corporation.
c. All corporation journal/wallet entries will be viewable by anyone.
d. IPOs will have an in-game mechanism. This means that if a corporation chooses to have an IPO, their shares are sold through an in-game system, and the CEO cannot take them off the market. All the shares are required to be put up for sale. This is to avoid a CEO selling 40% of his shares and then using the rest to win votes and take all the ISK.
For example, lets say Hector D'arnes wants to start P-TEC. He creates a public corporation, and the ISK is transferred into the corporation's lockdown account as the shares are bought. He creates a shareholder vote asking if he can activate a particular contract with the money (that is, the contract offering him the blueprint he wants). The vote passes, and the blueprint is bought and automatically locked down.
Suddenly he can't scam anymore. And neither can anyone else, assuming their shareholders aren't fools.
Yet at the same time a corporation could still do business. The restrictions wouldn't be too harsh as to stop a corporation from happening.
Discuss.
Doesnt sound fairly scalable.
What if, its a huge corporation wiht 1000's of different assets and dozens of players working for it? Shareholder vote to unlock everything? ---------------------------------------- Friends Forever
